This project at Perth JPS is yet another example of the wonderful outcomes even one passionate gardener can accomplish. You may recall Nancy’s lovely project at Shirley St. JPS. This is the second project she took on this past year.

Nancy was placed as an Early Childhood Educator at Perth JPS  for the 2022/2023 school year and was inspired to carve out a habitat for wildlife and for the students. Leslie, the school librarian, was also very enthusiastic and tried to make connections to the curriculum and even joined in the garden preparation work.

Nancy managed to get the ground prepped during her lunch breaks and a few evenings after teaching. And the rewards were so great. The students, their parents as well as members of the community interest showed a lot of interest at every stage. The gratitude of the other teachers and the transformation of the landscape was pure joy! Once again the seedlings grown by Nancy as part of the PS Underhill Seedsitting Group as well as the ones donated by our group members were used to create this beautiful garden.

Kudos to Nancy for her great passion and  hard work.
