Two free talks at Seedy Saturday Toronto

Seedy Saturday is a great opportunity to swap seeds with other people or directly purchase from local seed suppliers. My last in-person one was two years ago at the Toronto Botanical Gardens and I even got to meet two of my instagram followers!

Last year Seedy Saturday was held online and that format allowed many more people to meet up and chat about growing. This year, I will be leading two amazing free webinars that I hope you can attend:

Introducing the Garden Fun Club Program

Tuesday, March 1, 7pm

Last year I published a free, online, digital book to help parents and educators engage children with gardening activities. While I’ve received great feedback, I know that I can reach more people so I will be talking about how to use the book, structure curriculum, organize activities, and kids to fall in love with gardening.  I will also demonstrate some of the activities in the book to show how easy it is to follow along and share highlights from the next issue due to be published “whenever my day job gives me a break!!! “

There are two other perks!

  • I will mail free native seeds to anyone who attends.
  • There is an instagram contest to win one of two North American Native Plant Society memberships I am giving away ( valued at $25 each) ! 1.post a picture of your favorite plant native to your area, 2. use the hashtag #nativeplantswithsayeh , 3. tag @sayehsunstudio

Seedstarting with Greenest City!

Saturday, March 5, 2-4pm

If you like to eat, this is the webinar for you! This is a hands-on workshop where you will be given a list of supplies that you will need and you can follow all/some of the activities at your own pace. We will be looking at sprouting various seeds as steps to empower marginalized communities to develop skills and tools to grow their own food.
